TOTTENHAM may not open their new stadium until February after yet another delay – this time due to problems over staging test events around Christmas.

The club need to attain the necessary safety certificates to get the final green light but this is understood to be proving difficult.

On Sunday they are set to host 6,000 fans – picked through a Willy Wonka-style ballot – for a tour of the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but the chances of hosting Manchester United on January 13 look slim.

According to The Times, Tottenham had scheduled test events for the Sundays either side of New Year: December 30 and January 6.

However, Crystal Palace host Chelsea in a London derby at 12pm on December 30.

It means there is likely to be a shortage of staff and police resources and therefore Spurs have reportedly changed their schedule.
