With Deontay Wilder’s vile outbursts and Tyson Fury’s shocking views, is this fight the ugliest in history?
TYSON FURY and Deontay Wilder do as much shocking outside of the ring as they do inside it.
In the lights of Los Angeles, the two heavyweight monsters will do battle, with Wilder’s WBC belt up for grabs.
But their conduct outside the squared circle has often taken the shine off their talents inside it.
This week fellow boxer Adrien Broner made a vulgar joke about top trainer Freddie Roach’s Parkinson’s illness in a press conference for his fight against Manny Pacquiao.
He said: “I’m happy he bringing Freddie back so we can get this thing shaking.”
There is no doubt boxers and promoters will all they can to “sell” their fights, but as Broner proved, some things are totally uncalled for.
Wilder and Fury have come up with some particularly shocking comments over the years – with SunSport believing this could be the dirtiest fight of all time.
Here we take a look at some particularly disturbing interviews given by both boxers.
“I want a body on my record”
Deontay Wilder made the shocking comment that he wanted to kill a man in the boxing ring in May this year.
The American was giving an interview to The Breakfast Club when he said that he “wanted a body on his record”.
Talking as though his moniker The Bronze Bomber as though it was an alter-ego didn’t make things any better.
He said: “I want a body on my record, I want one.
“The Bronze Bomber, he want [a body]. I always tell people, when I’m in the ring, like I am the Bronze Bomber.
“With him, it’s so crazy, when I’m in the Bronze Bomber, I don’t really care.
““Everything about me changes. I don’t get nervous, I don’t get scared, I don’t get butterflies, I don’t have no feeling towards the man I’m fit to fight.”

“He’s a white man milking a black man”
Wilder accused boxing promoter Eddie Hearn of exploiting superstar Anthony Joshua during a stunning outburst in New York.
He said: “Eddie Hearn is just another white man milking a black man, that’s all it is. It’s easy.
“It’s about time for somebody to say it and come out with it and I don’t care who hears it.
“I don’t hold my voice and I don’t have any filters, I speak what I think.”
It came after negotiations for the two to finally arrange a unification fight hit the buffers.
He told iFL TV: “He is a racist c**t I think, I personally think he is. Questions about promoters using fighters, he’s got a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
“When I read them, I thought you can’t be saying that. I’ve got mates from all different nationalities and you can’t come out and say that. It’s unprofessional.”
“Look at the man who crippled your daddy”
Wilder and US heavyweight rival Dominic Breazeale infamously clashed in a hotel lobby back in 2017 having both fought on the same show earlier that night.
It led to Breazeale calling for them to settle the feud in the ring.
Wilder responded with a chilling threat that involved bringing Breazeale’s children into it.
He told FightHype: “We already know what Dominic Breazeale is doing. He’s trying to talk me into fighting him – which is not working.
“My mind is already made up on that Breazeale fight, and when it do happen I’m gonna make sure he brings his son on the stage to look the man in the eye that’s gonna cripple his daddy.”
“I’m gonna knock you out” – to a mascot
Wilder proved nothing is out of the question when he brutally KO’d a mascot on live TV.
He later apologised for his actions and offered the person tickets to his fight with Tyson Fury in December.
He wrote on social media: “Anything headlining I didn’t know a ‘human being’ was in there is just straight ‘click baiting’ like come on wow.
“I sincerely apologise to the brave man that was injured (if this is true) I have the up most high respect for him, his participation, willingness and courage.”
Fury – Wilder wanted to get the fight cancelled
TYSON FURY believes Deontay Wilder wanted to start a riot so their fight would be cancelled and the Gypsy King slapped with a massive fine.
The final press conference for the Saturday night WBC heavyweight world title showdown was a cordial event for around 30 minutes before a late scuffle.
The Bronze Bomber shoved Fury’s promoter Frank Warren out of the face-off and the American’s team surged forward and allegedly threw punches.
Fury said: “I think Wilder’s nervous; he felt he needed to scream and shout and make threats.
“I believe Wilder wanted me to aim the left hook so that the fight would be cancelled.”
“Homosexuality will cause the world to end”
Just one month before he made headlines by beating Wladimir Klitschko and becoming world champion, Fury made the headlines for the wrong reasons.
In an explosive interview with the Mail On Sunday, Fury spoke of how he was against abortion and homosexuality.
Just weeks later, after winning four world titles, the Gypsy King’s stance had clearly not shifted.
He told Jeremy Vine’s BBC Radio 2 show that homosexuality, abortion and paedophilia “will cause the world to end”.
He added: “Them three things (abortion, homosexuality and paedophilia) need to be accomplished before the world finishes. That’s what the Bible tells me.
“So it may take a while before these three things have to be accomplished but make no mistake them three things must be accomplished before the world finishes.
“That’s not my opinion it’s what the Bible tells me.”
“A woman’s best place is in the kitchen and on her back”
Before his big night in Dusseldorf, Fury gave an interview to iFL TV that shocked the world.
His comments on female boxers were particularly offensive.
He said: “I think they’re very nice when they’re walking around that ring, holding them cards.
“I like them actually. They give me inspiration when I’m tired. I’m all for it. I’m not sexist.
“I believe a woman’s best place is in the kitchen and on her back. That’s my personal belief.
“Making me a good cup of tea, that’s what I believe.”

“Tony Bellew and David Price are gay lovers”
Back in 2012, David Price was celebrating after knocking out Audley Harrison in the first round of their Commonwealth British title fight.
An interested spectator ringside was Fury – but when asked to comment on the performance, his response was staggering.
First he labelled Price a “stiff idiot”, before taking things to a whole new level.
He added: “Call me out, call me any names and you are getting it.
“And you know your gay lover Tony Bellew, I’ll fight him…”
“I’d hang my sister”
Fury has fought in the US before – but his comments before knocking out Steve Cunningham at Madison Square Garden 2013 he gave an explosive interview.
He was quoted as saying he would “hang” his sister if she was promiscuous.
He said: “There are these girls who want to open their legs to every Tom, Dick and Harry.
“But they are looked upon as rubbish in [the traveller] community. We don’t do stuff like that.
“If I had a sister who did that … I’d hang her. She would bring disgrace on the family.
“It is a very, very bad thing to do. We don’t do that. Women have to be pure and respectful.”
“Jewish people are brainwashing us”
Fury posted a video on YouTube where he gave his thoughts on a whole host of life topics.
But it was an anti-semitic rant that was particularly vile.
He said: “Everyone just do what you can, listen to the government follow everybody like sheep.
“Be brainwashed by all the Zionist, Jewish people who own all the banks, all the papers all the TV stations. Be brainwashed by them all.”
He later apologised for his comments, blaming “media scrutiny”.
