Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi not ready for Premier League, claims Maurizio Sarri
MAURIZIO SARRI insists Callum Hudson-Odoi isn’t ready for Premier League action.
That’s despite the youngster bagging a goal and an assist on his first senior start for Chelsea last night.
Hudson-Odoi put in a top performance during the 4-0 Europa League win over PAOK at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
He gave the Greek side a tough time thanks to some mazy runs and precise passes.
Things got even better for Hudson-Odoi when he netted a second-half stunner.
And the 18-year-old capped off his performance with an assist for struggling striker Alvaro Morata.

Chelsea fans have been calling for Hudson-Odoi’s inclusion since his impressive pre-season performances.
But despite seeing the likes of Willian and Pedro struggle for form, Sarri is adamant that Hudson-Odoi must improve further before earning a start in England’s top flight.
Sarri said: “I don’t know if Hudson-Odoi is able for the Premier League at 18, especially in a big team.
“If he’s good enough to play in a big team in the Premier League at 18 then he could be the best player in Europe in two years.
“I think he played very well but the type of match was for his characteristics as they had ten men after seven minutes.
“We only needed to play in the offensive phase, he’s very able to do this but I want to see him in a match when he has to play in a defensive phase.”
Sarri also hailed Chelsea’s response after their 3-1 drubbing against Spurs last weekend, adding: “I think we approached the match very well, so I am very happy with this.
“The last three matches we had problems with this. This was really very good. Before the match we knew were in the first of the group after the BATE result, so it wasn’t easy to find a big motivation.”
