Fulham attempting to tie down Ryan Sessegnon and Marcus Bettinelli to new deals

FULHAM are trying to tie Ryan Sessegnon to a new contract – but face a long process if they are to pull it off.

Sessegnon, 18, has two years left on his current deal.

The Cottagers are keen for their boy wonder to pen fresh terms yet SunSport understands they have made little progress in their efforts to do so.

And with the Premier League’s elite circling, Sessegnon can bide his time before deciding whether to commit to his boyhood club or not.

The left winger was a key player in the West Londoners’ promotion from the Championship last term but has found himself on the bench in the last few Premier League games.

Better news for Fulham comes in the shape of Marcus Bettinelli who is also set to be offered a new deal.

Negotiations are expected to be a lot smoother for the goalkeeper, who received a shock call-up to the England squad for the recent clashes against Spain and Switzerland.

Team news

Tim Ream is still out with a back problem as the Cottagers prepare for Saturday’s trip to champions Manchester City.

That means Fulham’s player of the season last term is yet to play a single minute this campaign.

Tom Cairney, the man who scored the winning goal in May’s play-off final, remains sidelined along with Neeskens Kebano.

Likely Fulham line-up: Bettinelli; Fosu-Mensah, Mawson, Odoi, Le Marchand; McDonald, Anguissa, Seri; Schurrle, Mitrovic, Vietto.
